Last night was my first in person card class and it was so much fun. I held it at the local art gallery Woodland Park. My best friend Linda came and then there were 2 other ladies that attended also. One of the ladies works at City Market with Linda and the other lady saw the ad on Facebook and signed up.
So, it was a night like any other. I had a class planned and I had been prepping for weeks. Everything was packed up and ready to go and then I took a few minutes to go over my notes that I had made the week prior. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I had Linda come over the Week before so we could go through the class and make sure that I had everything ready and made notes of anything that I might possibly forget. So, back to yesterday.... I have all of my supplies, and I am putting them into bags to bring them, and I have all of the card kits, Blocks, lots of blocks because I wanted all stamps to be on their own blocks instead of taking this one off to switch each time. It really was a great plan. I had the ink and I reinked the ink pads. I had adhesive and extra adhesive even. I was getting tired, so I left a little early to head to town, I had to go to the Dollar Tree to get a few things and then I wanted to get to the gallery and get set up. So, I got my stuff and got to the Gallery, The lady that was working at the gallery gave Linda and I a quick tour of what to shut off when we were done and then we started setting up. A guy showed up to ask a question about handwriting on a Christmas project he was making and then the ladies showed up. I had everything set up on the nice big table and then I realized .....What is the most important tool that is needed when you are making cards? You need Paper, Ink and STAMPS!!!! Did you notice that when I mentioned all the supplies I packed up, Stamps was not on there? I FORGOT THE STAMPS!!!! I was so embarrassed, I could not believe it. The ladies seemed to be ok with it and I think it still went well. I did receive a lot of good ideas and advice for how to plan my next event without forgetting the main ingredient per say. My next class is on December 12, 2025, and I am going to have a checklist for all of the product needed. I don't want to forget something each time :) oh and I forgot to take pictures. :(
